A website started by one person in an attempt to help not only himself, but millions of sports fans capture their dreams of owning a professional sports team.
What is the purpose?
Besides that part about capturing your dreams? Well, members of OwnASportsTeam.com will have the ability to vote on team decisions. They will be virtual GM's, owners and coaches who will have the opportunity to control the destiny of the very team they root for.
How will voting work?
OwnASportsTeam.com will decide which questions/issues to pose to members and voting will be conducted via a secure website accessible to only members. For every dollar a member contributes, they will have 1 point of "influence". Votes will be scored based on which option recieves the most amount of "influence" votes, giving the members who contributed more a larger voice in team decisions. But every vote counts!
How is a team to purchase decided on?
OwnASportsTeam.com management will enter into team purchase negotiations based on what they believe is of the group's best interest. However, before the deal is finalized, members may have the opportunity to accept/veto the purchase of the specific team. While everyone has their favorite sports and leagues, we're confident that every member will be elated to reach the goal of purchasing a team.
What happens until a team is purchased?
As financial capital is generated, members will have the ability to communicate with eachother in a member only online forum. While the majority of funds collected will go directly to the purchase of a professional franchise, some monies will be used to cover the costs of business such as web development, hosting fees, taxes, employment costs, other services or unforeseeable fees or services associated with doing business on a such a large scale. Rest assured that OwnASportsTeam.com was founded based on the dream to own a professional sports team and that goal will be kept as the number one priority.
